How to Win Friends & Influence People

Let me tell you a prolog about how I got in touch with this outstanding "How to Win Friends & Influence People" book. FYI, I am a big fan of The Big Bang Theory, US TV series. They produced the little Sheldon TV series, title : Young Sheldon where I watched this impressive episode "Rockets, Communist, and The Dewey Decimal System"- remember, I am a librarian. It is told young Sheldon became nerd in his high school (since he is a 9 years old but enrolled in high school) and how worried his mother was, since he has no friends. Watching this series always give me a warm at heart feeling, where the modest family has a strong mother who really love her children and will definitely bring her best for each of them. The geek Sheldon where sometimes mocked by his siblings, how Sheldon-Father relationship felt weird at times, Mimaw (Granny) who plays goofy with Sheldon, but only Sheldon's mother is the one who really places the best effort to understand Sheldon and makes sure the geek Sheldon grows well in between of these 'normal' people. In this episode, Sheldon's mother was worried about him and he had initiative to visit library and find this treasure "How to Win Friends & Influence People", perfectly fits with his needs. Sheldon tried to put the content in practice but it seemed failed. So that, he met the previous borrowers who had borrowed the book and surprised to see the book was failed for each of them. But at the end, it's not that failed eh? Sheldon met a friend another nerd in the library and they learn to become friends since this episode and for the forthcomings.

I made a note of the book title, and surprised to see we have it in our library! Let's say this is our #mestakung #thelawofattraction I borrowed the books and stopped in first part only hahaha. Really need to continue further with this. Even though I haven't finish reading the book but I am surprised to read it. Most the books tell us about being genuinely interested in other people, not about some communication skill like body gesture or saying words in lavish way. It always return to yourself. Reflect. Be genuine.

I am really interested to learn more about who is Dale Carnegie, but he is already death. We only can  gain knowledge from his legacy. Don't you think it is so awesome, a notable work of him, written in 1936 could survive until now? How his works can influence people until today?

Quote from"How to Win Friends & Influence People" written by Dale Carnegie,
"Did you ever stop to think that a dog is the only animal that doesn't have to work for a living? A hen has to lay eggs, a cow has to give milk, and a canary has to sing. But a dog makes his living by giving you nothing but love.

Mr Carnegie dog's name is Tippy, and this is how he gave tribute to Tippy where I found it's true, "You never read a book on psychology, Tippy. You didn't need to. You knew by some divine instinct that you can make more friends in two months by becoming genuinely interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.. If we merely try to impress people and get people interested in us, we will never have many true, sincere friends. Friends, real friends, are not made that way."
