The Leaders

Dear readers, I would like to recommend you 10 women who are active in instagram and I found their posts are inspiring me. These women are bold, able to stand out as their unique character. Their existence brings positive change for many people around them.

Please let me introduce those change-maker women who shared their influences through Instagram :

1. Butet Manurung

After read her book, Sokola Rimba, I appreciated what Kak Butet Manurung did and her Sokola Rimba Foundation. She is still faithful in her passion and several times shared her activities with Sokola Rimba Foundation. Their scope of working is wider now, not only limited to Jambi but also reaching Papua. Keep doing the good work Kak Butet!

2. Nila Tanzil

Actually, I knew Kak Nila Tanzil when I was applying a job in Taman Bacaan Pelangi (Rainbow Reading Gardens). Even though I don't get accepted for the job, but I do support and admire what Kak Nila did for Indonesia literacy movement. Taman Bacaan Pelangi already established 107 libraries across 18 islands in Eastern Indonesia. Waiting for more good news from Taman Bacaan Pelangi, Kak Nila :)

3. Michelle Obama
She is a truly inspiration! She is strong and very confident to be herself. She is not only The First Lady for United States of America, but she concern about us, women of the world. Michelle Obama shared motivation for many girls throughout the world to keep learning and have education. When we think Michelle Obama's done with being a First Lady of USA, she has not done yet. She made Global Girls Alliance and published her book "Becoming". Can't wait what will the future bring for her!

4. Najwa Shihab

Who can escape from Mata Najwa (Najwa's Eyes)? Those beautiful eyes will not only drown you in charm but also will stab you at heart. Mata Najwa will go after your honest answer, for any questions she had asked. Najwa Shihab came from noble educated wealthy family, Shihab's family. She may choose to live in comfort, but no. She prefer to begin her career in journalistic, become a reporter in Indonesia television news channel.

Now, Najwa Shihab held her show, "Mata Najwa" who put hot topic/theme within the week and able to invite reputable sources as her guests. Mata Najwa show has been aired for 7 years in Metro TV, and moved to Trans 7 since 2018. Please remember to always put your schedule available every Wednesday night, 8 pm, GMT +7 respectfully to watch Mata Najwa :)

5. Nadya Hutagalung

I followed Nadya Hutagalung since we have Twitter, and knew elephants been her concern for many years. Kak Nadya is a role model of classic beauty-Bataknese who inspired me. Her modest look, simple life, being vegetarian, do meditation, are several of her shared activities in her social media account. She is the real example of a beauty with brain and behaviour :)

6. Gal Gadot

When I watched Wonder Woman (2017), it's just perfect! Gal Gadot successfully portray the Wonder Woman who is strong physically but has a deep compassion for human race. I do not know whether Gal Gadot felt under pressure to characterise Diana Prince role in this movie or not. However, being able to act as a Wonder Woman should be a honour for every one who deserve the role.

Moreover, Gal Gadot life is also interested to read and follow in IG. Her natural look, her love and fondness with her family get us closer with her life as a mother and wife. Her posts remind me that this Wonder Woman is a woman who loves her family. We women, are Wonder Woman in our way :)

7. Raline Shah

Raline Shah competed in Puteri Indonesia 2008 and won as a favourite contestant. After that, Raline face is recognized by public and become Indonesian actress and model. She is one of a kind celebrity in Indonesia who usually post natural and goofy pictures in her IG. She never worry to be seen ridiculous in public, she is trying to be herself. It is the part that I like about her.

Please stay being yourself Kak Raline :)

8. Maria Harfanti

I was introduced to Kak Maria from an event held in Jayapura, this September 2018. She founded her NGO, Bangun Sekolah Indonesia to help fix school building in rural area in Indonesia. Kak Maria is Miss Indonesia 2015 and she could be proud about herself, but she is not. She is humble and when converse with her, you can realise that she is smart.

She usually posts her social movement activity or as a representative by Miss Indonesia Organization in her IG. I hope the best for her Bangun Sekolah Indonesia :)

9. Dinni Septianingrum
IG: dinni_s

I met her through a non-profit education community, but I was surprised to see her IG. Kak Dinni shared many provoking beautiful scenery picture in IG. Those pictures remind us to take care our oceans and nature. You will envy to see her posts in promoting Sea Soldier movement in IG.

10. Friska Titi Nova

Who will appreciate myself if it is not me? Hahaha. So that, I will put my name at the end of the list. Anyway, I better to promote Pustakawan Mendunia IG than my personal IG. Because I always share information and inspiration about literacy and library movement through IG @pustakawanmendunia

I am not perfect and I still learning to write nd spreading good news for anyone who need advancement in librarianship. You may check Pustakawan Mendunia website http://www.pustakawanmendunia.org
